WHAT IS CHEMICAL ENGINEERING?
Chemical
engineering is the branch of engineering widely and versatile that is concerned with application and developing of processes
in the changing of chemical structure, energy containing or physical situation
of materials. Chemical engineering is based on chemical, physic,
mathematics and biology and directed by economic rules.
Education of Chemical Engineering can be defined not only the branch of engineering concerning to production of chemical compounds but also “synergetic” processes or “Process” engineering. The ‘process’ of this engineering branch contains design of all service processes at the interface of Social sciences –technology of modern technology, production of electronic material , the endproduct and raw material of advanced technology, space tool – device. This science which has been called as the engineering of synergic events presents various advantages for a successful technological innovation in the most end of the environment- human-technology triangle giving foremost place to countries in the field of information age living .

Operation, Thermodynamic, Mass Transfer,
Kinetics and Catalysis, Rector
Plant , Process Control, Chemical Technologies, Fuel, Biotechnology and

mass transfer , homogenous and heterogeneous reaction kinetics, high

For this purpose, a chemical engineering is a trade branch which is able to convert to application from these designs, able to process design with using of these information in various applications field, have a necessary and adequate information about various subjects such as from raw material to processed material or reactions formed during production of product , the necessary physicochemical conditions for able to obtain of these reactions, necessary energy, intermediate product formed and its characteristics, “Unit Operation “ and “Basic Processes” during the production, and economies.
The chemical engineering working in specific industrial operation is responsible technical personal from general and individually operating of unit processes such as raw material-product, production - quality control, plant - operating, chemical waste – treatment relations and environmental production. working area of chemical engineering is very extensive. The organization giving
the employees opportunity for a chemical engineering can be listed as chemical process
industrial organization ( plant and operations), public and state organization
and institution, private sectors, universities, laboratories, import-export
offices etc. The main chemical process industries giving the most employees opportunity for a chemical
engineering can be listed as textile, pigment, cement, brick, glass, ceramic, refractor, paper, plastic, rubber, synthetic
fiber, petroleum refinery, petrochemicals, fertilizer, water, sugar, oil,
medicine, detergent, soap, and the others

GENEL INFORMATION ABOUT DEPARTMENT
Cumhuriyet University -Department of Chemical Engineering
was founded by senatorial resolution with dating of 09.03.1993 and no of 93/5 and by Faculty
Decision with dating of 20.03.1993 and
no of 93/11 and had begun formal
education with 30 students in 1994-1995
training- teaching and then begun second
education with 40 students in 2002-2003 training- teaching.
In
the department there are 16 lecturer containing 2 professors, 1 associated
professors, 5 assistance professors as well as 1
As
a stated above, 4 Research assistances were commissioned to Ph.D working
with 35. items of no :
With supplied extra allowance in 1997
financial year all student laboratories containing all experimental setups and
research laboratories (KÝMAL) were founded. At the moment, the department of
chemical engineering has been continued four-years
training- teaching definitely with lectures, classrooms, and laboratories.
The
more lessons
and laboratories for initial 2 years of
license program have been continued by lectures of Scientific Faculty- Department of Chemistry.
The all engineering lessons have been continued by lectures of Chemical, Civil and Mechanic
engineering in Engineering Faculty. However, Department of chemical engineering
have now enough lectures for all engineering lessons.
